2021 Inter-House Swimming Carnival

St CLARE’S 2021 8-12 Years SWIMMING CARNIVAL

WEDNESDAY, 10 FEBRUARY 2021

LONG TAN MEMORIAL POOL 9:00am – 1:10pm

St Clare’s Interhouse Swimming Carnival is on Wednesday, 10 February at Long Tan Memorial Pool. It is an expectation that all 8 (born in 2013) to 12 year olds attend and participate. This means all Years 3 – 6 students will attend the carnival. Some students in Year 2 (born in 2013) are also invited to attend. We will have plenty of events to cheer for and some entertaining races to get involved in that are jam packed full of fun.

The following information will assist you on the day:

What to wear:  Students are invited to dress in House colours (there will be a prize for the best dressed house supporter) or their sports uniform. Students must wear a school hat and covered footwear to and from school. Students are advised to wear their swimwear underneath the sports uniform. All swimwear must be of a modest nature (i.e. one-piece). Coloured zinc is permitted.

What to bring: School bag with morning tea, lunch, water bottle, towel, sunscreen and underwear. Please ensure that your child’s belongings are clearly labelled.

Canteen: The canteen will NOT be available to students, however parents/ caregivers are welcome to purchase food and drinks for their children from the canteen.

Bus:  All students must meet at their classroom at the beginning of the school day (8:10am), where a roll will be marked at 8.25am and age group numbers written on their hands. Classroom teachers will escort their classes to the bus for transfers to the pool venue. Bus transfers will be for students and staff only, parents will need to make their own way to the Long Tan Swimming Pool. To assist us in booking the appropriate return leg buses please inform your child’s teacher if you will be taking your child home early from the pool by completing the section on the permission slip.

The Swimming Levels for the Carnival are as follows:

Level 1:             15m Freestyle Kickboard & Noodle Relays.
